December is always filled with so much fun! This year we filled the whole month with hot chocolate, holiday card making, gingerbread houses, and an ugly sweater day! On December 23rd we had our annual Multi-Cultural Fair. Each classroom picks a country and creates a display. All the staff and students get to engage by listening, asking questions, and even tasting foods from that country.
What better way to bring in the holiday cheer than sharing with others during the season of giving? Students at the Excel Academy of Roseland, part of the Chicago Public Schools’ Options Network, channeled the spirit of giving back with this year’s “HOLI-Dance”. Staff asked students to bring at least one canned food item for entry to the event. By the end of HOLI-Dance, approximately 75 cans were collected for donation to Mt. Calvary Baptist Church’s food pantry. HOLI-Dance attendees were also entered into a drawing for a free turkey, with student Jakari taking home the traditional Thanksgiving entrée. Excel [...]

During spirit week Jordan and Jesse shared their school spirit and wore their pajamas. “I can wear pajamas everyday if I could” - Jordan.
ACI Middle School went on a field trip to the community park. Field trips are earned with C.A.S.E. cash.
Miles is an ACI student using his C.A.S.E. cash in our C.A.S.E. store to purchase snacks and fidget toys. Students can earn C.A.S.E. cash by earning points during rotations.
Ileana is in our High School ACI class. She is seen here pictured with Jacqueline Ragan (Director). Ileana is receiving awards from our monthly C.A.S.E. acknowledgment. She is seen with an “Accountable Award.” She received this award for always being on top of her rotations.
Miles is in ACI Middle School. Miles loves his birthday and is always eager, he has a yearly countdown because finds it a very important day to share with his classmates.
