Early Elementary Intervention Program
A Positive Learning Environment for Young Learners
To impact a student’s academic progress, their social-emotional needs must be addressed first. Students in our standalone alternative education schools and in-district classrooms receive the extra academic, behavioral, and therapeutic supports they need, so they’re able to fully engage in school and achieve the success they deserve in all facets of life.
Our Early Elementary Intervention Program is an early educational therapeutic behavioral model for young students experiencing significant challenges with appropriate behavior, which impedes their ability to participate in a regular education classroom. Separate locations for these programs ensure smaller classes in a nurturing environment, so each child receives the attention and care they need to thrive.
Creating the right environment for young children to grow and succeed
In our Early Elementary Intervention Program, students are given the opportunity to experience school in a comfortable, nurturing environment where they have access to the extra support and attention they need. This type of environment has helped young children improve their attendance rates, gain access to community resources, demonstrate growth in reading and math, earn field trips and other incentives, and begin to enjoy going to school every day.
Highlights of our Early Elementary Intervention Program include:
- High staff-to-student ratio
- Personal accountability for behavior and academic achievement
- Positive behavior reinforcement through rewards
- Individual counseling and group therapy
- Social skills groups
- Speech and occupational therapy
- Nursing and health services
- Referrals for community counseling services
- Life skills development
- Daily gym classes
The importance of a positive peer culture
Our Early Elementary Intervention Program emphasizes the importance of positive peer culture. We maintain that culture, fostering a therapeutic classroom environment and focusing on each child’s social, emotional, and intellectual development.
The program utilizes a behavioral modification system that offers rewards to cultivate positive leadership skills and increase pro-social behaviors. The Early Elementary Intervention Program follows a rigorous academic model and is committed to continual academic growth and campus improvement.
