High Road School of Wright City Students Create Holiday Cards For Community

During December, students at High Road School of Wright City focused on being considerate and inclusive. School staff decided one way to promote inclusivity within the community, as well as considerate behavior, was to organize a holiday card drive for residents of Warrenton Manor, a local nursing home. Students enjoyed stretching their creative abilities to craft individualized holiday cards with cheerful greetings and words of encouragement. Maddy’s Communication Makes Everyone Smile

High Road School of Wright City is excited to recognize BEST’s Maddy as our April Student of the Month. Maddy’s teachers report, “Maddy has shown great improvements in her ability to use her communicator independently. She is navigating pages to communicate her wants, needs, and is greeting peers and staff with very few prompts. She has made so much progress on her goals. Celebrating Diversity

The students of Academic 3 recently had the pleasure of hosting children's author (and SESI employee) Nichole Rages for a reading of her book "The Girl with the Magic Tummy." This book is a part of a multicultural series celebrating differences and fostering cultural harmony. Caretaker Support Group: Self-Care

We know that the uncertain and ever-changing times are impactful not only for our students but for their caretakers as well. Our March support group will provide an opportunity to network with other adults in similar situations and identify effective strategies to promote your physical, emotional, and mental health.
