Two Excel Middle Years Academy students were honored for their leadership and personal growth during an upscale gala held by The Lee Monument Foundation, non-profit organization designed to help families that can’t afford to purchase a headstone for their child. Josh, a 12-year-old who proudly goes by the nickname “Josh T. Rex” thanks to his love of dinosaurs, recently completed sixth grade at Lexington Life Academy. This is Josh’s second year at the school. Staff and students from the Excel, Achieve, and Continuation Academies in Philadelphia wrapped up the school year with the annual May Day celebration on May 23. Held at the picturesque Lemon Hill Picnic Area in Fairmount Park, the event gave students a well-deserved break from the classroom and a chance to enjoy a day in the fresh air. Mel’s Progress at the High Road School of Hartford

After two and a half years at the High Road School of Hartford, 14-year-old Mel is preparing to transition to a district-run high school. It’s a milestone that reflects how far she’s come and one her family and school team are proud to celebrate.
