High Road School of Bucks County
High Road School of Bucks County serves students in grades 7 to 12 in a safe and nurturing learning environment designed to support students with emotional and other learning disabilities. Small classes and a high staff-to-student ratio allow for personalized instruction and individualized responsiveness. The primary goal of the High Road School of Bucks County is to help students develop academic, social and personal skills so they can return to a less restrictive setting.

Bryan Freberg – Program Director
Bryan Freberg, Program Director, earned a bachelor’s degree from Shippensburg University and a Master of Education from Chestnut Hill College. With a passion for helping youth, he has been educating children for over 12 years in the greater Philadelphia area. He is excited to help students reach their potential at High Road School of Bucks County. In his free time, Bryan enjoys golfing, traveling and spending time with family.
Courtney Norman – Transition Coordinator
Courtney Norman, Transition Coordinator is a graduate student at Saint Joseph’s University, where she anticipates receiving a Master of Education in December 2021. She has been in the education field for more than seven years has a passion for educating students, especially those with special needs. To ensure to success of the students she serves, Courtney values building strong, positive and trusting relationships with students and families.
Tirzah Cannad, School Counselor
Tirzah Cannad completed a Master of Science in School Counseling at Gwynedd Mercy College. As a certified counselor, Tirzah has worked with various populations to help students remove obstacles and overcome challenges in reaching their highest potential. Tirzah is fueled by a passion for learning, healing and understanding, and enjoys peaceful time alone to recharge and prepare to give the best to students and families.
Briana Connor-Waithe – Teacher
Briana Connor-Waithe is a teacher who earned her bachelor’s degree in education from Holy Family University in Philadelphia. She has been teaching for more than 10 years. She and her husband have two children; in her free time, she enjoys spending time and going on adventures with them!
Valerie Korsick – Teacher
Valerie Korsick graduated from Kutztown University in 2018, and teaches English and History at High Road School of Bucks County. She enjoys playing music, going on hikes and playing with her cat.
Sarah Washerstein, Teacher
Sarah Washerstein received my bachelor’s degree from Millersville University in Disability Studies with a minor in Social Justice. She enjoys spending time with friends, family, and her dog Nala!

The primary goal of the High Road School of Bucks County is to help students develop academic, social and personal skills so they can return to a less restrictive setting.
Our Students
Students are referred by Bucks County Intermediate Unit (BCIU) to attend High Road School of Bucks County and are generally in grades 7 – 12. They face disabilities in a variety of areas, including Emotional Disturbance (ED).
Our Staff
We are proud to employ teachers who are certified through the Pennsylvania Department of Education and have crisis intervention training. Our staff also includes a Transition Coordinator and a School Counselor to provide support for each student.
