A Peek Inside Our Schools & Classrooms
Student Spotlight: Levon
Levon comes to school with a smile and an eagerness to succeed. He can usually be found assisting his teacher in the classroom and completing jobs around the school. His work ethic and focus on doing well is an inspiration to his classmates. He brings a joyful, positive energy to those around him and encourages others to participate in what is happening in and out of the classroom. Levon is a motivated young man who will continue to excel academically and socially.
An Individualized Approach
At our schools and classrooms across the state, our certified teachers and staff provide individualized academic and behavioral interventions for students who have not found success in the traditional classroom due to a variety of intensive special needs, behavioral issues, or coexisting disabilities. Our students come to us with a variety of special education classifications, including, but not limited to:

Transition Planning for Life Beyond School
High Road Schools of Delaware each have a comprehensive Transition Program in place for all high school students. The vocational coordinators on staff address the transition goals listed in each student’s individualized educational plan, as well as coordinate vocational interest inventories, community out-placements, and on-site school jobs. We’re dedicated to empower students with the necessary social, academic, and job readiness skills that will make them suitable candidates for employment.
School-to-Work Program
Students have the option to participate in true-to-life jobs within the school setting. The end goal of the program is to develop the students’ employment skills and social skills in order to maximize their potential for success in the real world. Students seek to obtain school jobs by first filling out an application and interviewing for the position they are interested in, as they would in real life. Once the student obtains a suitable position at school, they are held accountable for their attendance and performance, so we work with them on such aspects of employment as punctuality, responsibility, following multi step instructions, and working independently.
