Cougar PAWS Academy is an early educational therapeutic and behavioral model for students in grades K-5 who exhibit behavior predictive of significant future challenges. The goal of this program is to help students avoid future academic hardships by providing the behavioral and therapeutic supports they need to change their current academic and behavioral trajectories early in their education.

Cougar Achieve Academy is a transitional program for middle school and high school students in grades 6-12 who have experienced challenges adapting to a traditional school environment and were referred from their home school. After sufficient time spent with Cougar Achieve Academy, these students will return to their home schools with marked improvement in behavior, attendance, and academics.

Cougar Excel Academy is an accelerated  of choice for students 16-21 years of age who are behind in their studies. This program offers an extended day, where students can earn up to 5 credits per semester and 10 credits per year, allowing students to graduate in 2.5 years or sooner. Cougar Excel Academy is dedicated to creating a challenging, academically rigorous, and safe environment for all students.

Cougar PAWS Academy is an early educational therapeutic and behavioral model for students in grades K-5 who exhibit behavior predictive of significant future challenges. This program focuses on offering therapeutic supports through positive reinforcement and social-emotional learning to help young students cope with trauma they’ve encountered and shift their focus to learning.

The goal of this program is to help students avoid future academic hardships by providing the behavioral and therapeutic supports they need to change their current academic and behavioral trajectories early in their education. Students are provided a program at a separate campus, which allows for smaller class sizes. As a result, students receive more individual attention in a nurturing environment so that they may achieve success.

To create a challenging, academically rigorous, and safe environment for all students, we utilize the Harrisburg School District curriculum.

As a transitional program for middle school and high school students in grades 6-12 who have experienced challenges adapting to a traditional school environment and were referred from their home school, Cougar Achieve Academy’s mission is to ensure that these students return to their home schools in a timely manner demonstrating marked improvement in behavior, attendance, and academics.

While with Cougar Achieve Academy, students receive the academic support they need to get back on track toward grade promotion or graduation. Our students also learn the behavioral tools that help them make decisions.

Once back at their home campus, our students are regularly checked on by their Cougar Achieve resource team to ensure that the student is coping well with the transition and applying the behavioral and academic strategies they learned with Cougar Achieve Academy to push through challenges they may face.

To create a challenging, academically rigorous, and safe environment for all students, we utilize the Harrisburg School District curriculum.

Cougar Excel Academy is an accelerated school of choice for students 16-21 years of age who are behind in their studies. This program offers an accelerated high school experience for students looking for a smaller, more personal setting, intensely focused on elevating social skills, emotional wellness, and academic success. The extended day provides students with the opportunity to earn up to 5 credits per semester and 10 credits per year, allowing students to graduate in 2.5 years or sooner.

Our school aims to succeed by developing meaningful relationships with each student to understand their individual needs, challenges, and strengths. From there, we provide care, support, and counseling to address the challenges students are faced with outside of school, helping them to develop coping and problem-solving skills and guiding them on how to identify and implement solutions to help them focus on learning. When students feel safe, secure, protected, and valued, they become empowered to take charge of their education and future and can begin to fulfill their learning potential.

Cougar Excel Academy is dedicated to creating a challenging, academically rigorous, and safe environment for all students, and in doing so, we utilize the Harrisburg School District curriculum.
