Community Bake Sale

The staff and students here at the Kent Alternative Program are working together with two community partners to give back! We will be taking a trip to our neighbors, the Worton Community Center to bake PINK goodies and treats to then sell to staff and students at the Kent County High School. Student of the Month: Dakota

Dakota is a twelfth grader in Ms. Lieberman’s class. Dakota has done an exemplary job this September of having a growth mindset and being a positive role model for his classmates. Dakota re-earned gold status at the beginning of the month after working hard all summer staying on blue. Devin Ingram is a 9th grade student at High Road Upper School. He came to us from the Lower School in September and Devin has excelled as a high school student! Every morning Devin comes to school with a smile on his face, ready to joke with the first staff member he sees. Trip to Watkins Nature Center

Ms. Kemp planned an awesome academic field trip for her 6th and 7th grade Science classes! The group visited the Watkins Nature Center of Prince George’s County to become more acquainted with elements of nature. The workshop students attended focused on the three rock groups, how they are created and where they come from. Students conducted experiments to help them identify the rocks by how hard or soft they are- they also worked on identifying rocks based on whether or not they could float! One Senior’s Adventure to Success

Crystal B. is a senior in high school, who is close to the last leg of her journey. Graduation is right around the corner and the idea of school work can be a thing of the past.
