Recently, a group of 10 enthusiastic students from the Excel program at Achieve Academy of Harrisburg had the exciting opportunity to visit Morgan State University in Baltimore, Maryland.

This educational trip was designed to provide students with a firsthand look at college life, expose them to new academic environments, and help them envision their futures in higher education.

While on campus, students explored several key areas of the HBCU, including academic buildings where they learned about various undergraduate programs and departments. They also toured student housing facilities, to get a sense of residential life at Morgan State, as well as campus dining areas, student lounges, and recreational spaces. A visit to the library and student union building, rounded out the day, showcasing the university’s commitment to academic excellence and student support services.

For many of the students, this was their first time visiting a university campus, and the experience was both eye-opening and inspiring.

“They were especially impressed by the modern facilities, the friendly campus atmosphere, and the diverse student body,” said Mr. Mike Williams, history teacher. “Several students expressed newfound interest in attending Morgan State or pursuing higher education more broadly.”
