On Martin Luther King Jr. Day, communities across the country reflect on the legacy and life of the civil rights leader. At the High Road School of Hoffman Estates, students honored his memory through activities that helped reinforce his vision of equality and justice.
They participated in engaging classroom discussions focused on King’s legacy and the importance of diversity today.
As part of the observance, students wrote their own “I Have a Dream” speech, sharing a heartfelt vision: “that people will show kindness by treating each other equally.” Their speeches were displayed around the school as a reminder of the ongoing importance of Dr. King’s message.
