A pandemic and social distancing hasn’t stopped students in Hamden’s K-3 classroom from making new friends this school year! Students have learned how to write a friendly letter and have been making progress towards different writing and language standards, like using commas in greetings and closings of letters.
They started writing letters to their pen pals at High Road School of Fairfield County in October. After writing their first letter, they got to virtually meet their pen pals when they attended Fairfield County’s Science Fair. They even got to ask some of their pen pals questions about their science fair projects! We are always excited to send and receive new letters as we get to know each other. We hope one day we can meet our pen pals in person!
