Makala Allen is a 10th grade student at High Road Upper School and is currently enrolled in the Prince George’s Community College’s Workforce Development Program’s 15 hour Childcare Teacher’s Aide certification program.

“I want to take childcare class because I like children and I enjoy watching children. I also want to learn to have patience. Children are very hard to deal with but I want to learn to manage with them. Working with children is a privileged. I like watching children grow up and be something in life. I want to be able to work at a good daycare that’s why I am taking this class. If I get my child care certificate I’m going to get a job as soon as I get it. If I get the chance to work with children I’m going to show them love and affection and never give up on them. Taking this class is going to help me a lot with everything. I also enjoy changing children lives and showing them the right way to life. I want every child that I work with feel affection and know that I’m here because I want to be.”
