Aubrey Finds Her Way

What has Aubrey accomplished over the past month to achieve Student of the Month?

Aubrey enrolled at HRA in September 2017, and she is currently in the 8th grade. Aubrey expressed that she enjoys working with her teachers to get better, and she “wants to do a good job with (her) homework.” Her favorite subjects in school are math, reading and science. Aubrey shared that at her former school, she used to get lost in the hallways. “But now I can find my way,” Aubrey stated. Outside of school, Aubrey likes to play with her toys, read books, watch TV and relax. “I love weaving blankets, too!” she exclaimed.

Ms. Wall, Aubrey’s teacher, stated that “Aubrey demonstrates a more positive and productive attitude and appears to be more motivated at school.” Ms. Wall added that making sure Aubrey knows that her hard work does not go unnoticed and that she is important has contributed to an improvement in her overall demeanor. “Aubrey really deserves this award,” she said.

What is something Aubrey has accomplished so far this school year that they are proud of?

Mrs. Marsh, Aubrey’s Speech/Language Pathologist, shared that she “has seen an improvement in her ability to actively participate in group discussion, as well as an overall improved attitude towards school. She is a pleasure to have in Speech therapy sessions.”
