Philadelphia Continuation Academy has been named a winner of the inaugural SEL in Action Award. The school was recognized in the category of Innovative SEL Practices by the School District of Philadelphia’s Office of School Climate and Culture.
The SEL in Action Awards and Showcase highlight schools advancing social and emotional learning through practical, schoolwide approaches. These efforts support student success and align with the Accelerate Philly Playbook and rubric. Additionally, the initiative recognizes schools that prioritize the well-being of both students and staff.
Selected from a competitive pool of nominees, Philadelphia Continuation Academy stood out for its focus on building a positive school culture. The school uses daily practices and explicit instruction to strengthen student engagement.
