Capital Academy Hosts Bounce Into Awareness Event

A Day Built on Movement, Creativity, and Connection

Capital Academy marked World Autism Month with its first “Bounce Into Awareness” event, giving students a chance to step outside the classroom and enjoy a day built around movement, creativity, and connection.

Engaging Activities for Every Student

The event featured a range of activities designed to engage students in different ways. Bounce houses and an inflatable obstacle course encouraged active play. Additionally, laser tag added an element of teamwork and friendly competition. A large Connect 4 game and other hands-on activities created opportunities for students to interact at their own pace.

For students who gravitated toward creative expression, there was a photo booth. Props and face painting offered a more relaxed way to participate. A “create your own” sweet treat station gave students a chance to make and enjoy their own reward.

Supporting Connection and Confidence

The event reflected a simple goal: to create space for students to unwind and connect in an environment that meets them where they are. Staff members supported students throughout the day, helping them navigate activities, build social confidence, and take breaks as needed.

What the Bounce Into Awareness Event Represents

“Bounce Into Awareness” also served as a visible reminder of the school’s commitment to recognizing and supporting neurodiversity. By offering a mix of structured and unstructured activities, the event allowed students to engage in ways that felt comfortable and meaningful to them.

Following the success of its first year, Capital Academy plans to continue building on the event as part of its ongoing efforts to support student well-being and celebrate what makes each student unique.
