Wright City 2026 Extended School Year Program Starts Strong

Extended School Year Program Starts with Social Skills
High Road School of Wright City launched its Extended School Year (ESY) program with an engaging social skills lesson that helped students connect, create, and share more about themselves.
Students Share Through Creative Activities
Students in the school’s elementary Bloom classroom participated in an “about me” activity led by social worker, Ms. Jenny.
During the activity, students shared their favorite colors, activities, and personal interests. They then used a light-up drawing board to doodle and create colorful designs. The lesson provided a fun way to communicate self-expression while practicing social skills.
“We are excited to see all the great moments Extended School Year will bring this summer,” said Meaghan Bell, IEP coordinator at High Road School of Wright City.
Supporting Progress During the Summer
ESY services support students whose IEP teams determine that continued instruction beyond the traditional school year will help them maintain progress. The program helps students return in the fall ready to continue their growth without interruption.
High Road School’s ESY program extends each student’s individualized education plan through targeted academic and behavioral support. Staff aligns instruction to IEP goals in an engaging summer learning environment that reinforces skills and builds confidence.
