High Road School of Nashville Brings ESY Health Education

At High Road School of Nashville, learning continues throughout the summer as students build academic, social-emotional, and life skills through the Extended School Year (ESY) program.
ESY Health Education Supports Whole Student Learning
As part of this summer’s programming, Dr. Louisa Ekem, MPH, of Meharry Medical College School of Global Health, led an interactive session on decision-making and health resources available to young people.
Student Health Education Through Informed Choices
Students participated in the discussion and asked thoughtful questions. Dr. Ekem encouraged them to make informed choices, prioritize personal safety, and access resources that support their overall well-being.
“We appreciate Dr. Ekem and the School of Global Health for investing in our students and sharing information that can help them lead healthy lives and make informed decisions,” said Gentry Campbell, school director.
Connecting Students with Community Partners
The session reflects High Road School of Nashville’s commitment to supporting the whole student. By connecting students with knowledgeable community partners, the school helps them develop practical skills and awareness that can positively influence their futures.
