Sierra School of Gilbert introduced CharacterStrong, a new social-emotional learning (SEL) curriculum, this school year. The interactive program helps students develop social skills, strengthen positive behaviors, and build a sense of community within their school.

Celebrating CharacterStrong Through Student Recognition

Each Friday morning, the school comes together for a special celebration known as the Victory Tunnel.

During this weekly tradition, students and staff gather to recognize individuals who demonstrate the character traits being taught in class. Award recipients walk through the Victory Tunnel as their peers and teachers cheer them on.

These celebrations reinforce positive social behaviors while giving students an opportunity to be recognized for their efforts and achievements.

Recognizing Respect, Gratitude, and Positive Behavior

Recent Character Strong awards have recognized students for demonstrating important character traits, including respect and gratitude.

Through daily engagement with CharacterStrong and weekly celebrations, Sierra School of Gilbert continues to support students’ academic, social, and emotional development.

The school looks forward to celebrating more students as they continue developing skills that help them build positive relationships and contribute to their school community.
