Excel Academy South hosted a Women’s History Month Bingo event that brought families into the building for an afternoon of games and connection.

The event featured five rounds of bingo, with prizes that included gift cards, school gear, and gift baskets. Attendees also enjoyed refreshments and fun mocktails, creating a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere.

Family member participation was required, encouraging students and their loved ones to spend time together during the school day.

“It was a blast,” said Nequetta Alford, graduation coordinator at Excel Academy South. “We had a lot of parents attend. It was good to see families spend time together and take part in something different during the school day.”

Building Stronger School Connections

In addition to bingo, the event included self-care activities and opportunities for families to connect with staff in a more casual setting.

Excel Academy South plans to continue hosting monthly events to encourage family participation and maintain consistent engagement throughout the year.

A Supportive Path to Graduation

With a small, supportive setting, Excel Academy South offers an accelerated high school track where students can earn up to 10 credits per year, tuition-free, and graduate in 2.5 years or less.

Available to students ages 15 to 21, the program focuses on academic success, emotional wellness, and social growth.
