Digital Design Projects for Students at High Road School

Students at High Road School of Fairfield County showcased their creativity and technology skills through a digital design project using Canva, a web-based graphic design platform. Students created photo collages of their dream vacation destinations. Each student chose a state or country and brought their ideas to life through visuals and design.

Using Canva to Create Visual Storytelling Projects

Throughout the project, students explored a variety of Canva tools, including templates, photo libraries, design elements, and text features. They used these resources to create visually engaging collages. Each one highlighted landmarks, cultural traditions, natural scenery, and popular activities.

Design Elements That Bring Ideas to Life

Each collage featured a title, a collection of carefully selected images, and a mix of fonts and design elements that worked together to tell a story. Students were encouraged to think about aesthetics and how to effectively communicate information through visual organization and design.

This project provided students with the opportunity to strengthen their digital literacy skills while expressing their individuality and interests. Ultimately, students demonstrated their ability to apply basic graphic design techniques, organize visual content, and present ideas clearly.

The final products highlighted students’ creativity and offered a glimpse into the many places they hope to visit in the future.
