A Showcase of Student Art and Expression

Students at the High Road School of Hartford at Windham County recently showcased their creativity during an art show.

The show featured a variety of student-created pieces, from colorful melted crayon canvas designs to painted landscapes and mixed-media projects. Each display highlighted each student’s approach to creating and expressing ideas.

Exploring Different Artistic Techniques

One station invited visitors to explore melted crayon art on canvas, where vibrant colors dripped and blended into unique patterns. Another display featured paintings ranging from abstract designs to detailed scenes, giving students a chance to experiment with different techniques and styles. A collaborative wall of decorated paper plates added another layer of creativity, with each piece contributing to a larger, garden-themed display filled with messages and personal touches.

Interactive Art Experience for Students and Families

In addition to viewing the artwork, students and guests participated in a hands-on coloring activity. The interactive element allowed families to engage alongside students and experience the artistic process together.

The event also provided families with an opportunity to visit and celebrate student work. While the program is small, three adults attended to support their students and take part in the experience.

“Our students put a lot of thought and effort into their work, and it was meaningful to see them share that with others,” said Christine DiGiacomo, operations manager, High Road School of Windham County. “The support from families and the pride our students felt made this a successful event.”
