What better way to celebrate progress during an Arizona summer than with a snowball fight?

Students at Sierra School of Gilbert recently enjoyed a special CASE Fun Friday featuring snowballs and snowcones, with a little help from the school’s friends and neighbors at Bahama Buck’s, who supplied the “snow.”

Celebrating Student Progress With Fun Friday

The event was held for students who reached Step 4 status after working hard throughout the week. Fun Friday activities give students something exciting to work toward while reinforcing positive decision-making, personal growth, and continued progress.

This week’s reward was especially memorable. Students and staff headed outside for a snowball fight in the middle of the August Arizona heat, where temperatures were around 110 degrees.

Between tossing snowballs, enjoying snowcones, and spending time together, students had plenty of opportunities to celebrate what they had accomplished.

A Snowball Fight to Remember

One student explained exactly why this Fun Friday was such a hit:

“This is the best CASE Fun Friday event of the year we can hit our teachers with snowballs and not get in trouble.”

The smiles and laughter throughout the afternoon made it clear that the event was a success.

Making Positive Choices Worth Celebrating

Fun Friday events take place each week and provide students with a variety of on-campus and off-campus activities.

At Sierra School of Gilbert, moments like these are about more than having fun. They are a chance to recognize effort, celebrate progress, and give students something meaningful to work toward each week.

And for this week’s Step 4 students, all that hard work came with a pretty unforgettable reward: snowcones, snowballs, and plenty of laughter.
