Sierra Students Attend Arizona Diamondbacks Autism Acceptance Night

During World Autism Month, students and staff from Sierra Schools of Central Arizona stepped up to the plate with an unforgettable visit to Chase Field for the Arizona Diamondbacks Autism Acceptance Night.
Sierra students and their families attended the game to cheer on the Arizona Diamondbacks as they faced off against the Toronto Blue Jays. The energy in the stadium was unforgettable, and the Diamondbacks delivered an exciting 6–3 win.
“For many of our students and families, this night marked their very first experience attending a live professional sporting event,” said Jessica Freeman, director of the Sierra School of South Mountain.
A Memorable Autism Acceptance Night at Chase Field
The Diamondbacks organization made the evening especially welcoming by offering accessibility features throughout the stadium, including quiet areas and sensory rooms, ensuring everyone could enjoy the game in a comfortable and supportive environment
Before the first pitch, students and families took part in a special on-field parade, creating memories that will last a lifetime and making everyone feel like VIPs at the ballpark.
Autism Acceptance Night with the Arizona Diamondbacks also supported the Autism Society of Greater Phoenix, with a portion of ticket sales donated to the organization.
“We extend our heartfelt thanks to the Arizona Diamondbacks for their commitment to inclusion and for creating an environment where our students felt welcomed and celebrated. It was truly a home run of an evening for Sierra Schools of Central Arizona,” said Freeman.
