High Road Happenings at High Road School of York
High Road School of York is buzzing with excitement as students recently participated in a range of engaging activities. The activities were designed to blend practical skills with classroom learning. High school students embraced a hands-on woodworking experience by creating their own charcuterie boards. This project allowed students to work with their hands, develop new skills, and take pride in a beautiful end product.
Hands-On Science Learning at High Road School of York
In science class, high schoolers got creative by constructing DNA strand models using Twizzlers, pretzels, and marshmallows. This fun and interactive lesson brought textbook science to life, as students visually and physically assembled the iconic double helix structure. By applying their knowledge, students deepened their understanding of genetics and demonstrated the practical application of their studies.
Celebrating Student Success and Community
To cap off a week of hard work and creativity, the entire school enjoyed a special Fun Friday treat, a pizza party! Thanks to the generous support of one of our elementary parents, every student in the school enjoyed pizza. As a result, this fostered a sense of community and celebration.
These recent activities at High Road School of York highlight our commitment to hands-on learning, the value of community support, and the importance of making school a fun and memorable place for everyone.
