In honor of Mother’s Day, Excel Academy of South Shore, part of the Chicago Public Schools’ Options Network, recently hosted a flower bouquet workshop, giving students a chance to create something thoughtful for the mother figures in their lives.

The event presented a unique hands-on opportunity for the students to explore their creativity and craft a beautiful tribute while exploring the therapeutic benefits inherent in the beauty and essence of flowers.

“Beyond the artistry of arrangement, this workshop also embraced the principles of floral therapy, believed to foster emotional balance by alleviating stress, anxiety, and emotional challenges,” said Rosie Jones, executive director of Excel Academy South Shore. “Participants may also experience enhanced mental clarity and focus, contributing to improved decision-making.”
