Excel Academy of Roseland Alumna Gives Back for Prom

A Full Circle Moment for an Excel Academy of Roseland Alumna

At Excel Academy of Roseland, one alumna recently returned in a powerful way, showing students what’s possible beyond graduation. In 2018, Briana Burks graduated from Excel Academy of Roseland, and this spring, she came back. Not just as a former student but as a business owner, mentor, and role model for the next generation.

Briana is now the owner of Dazzling Beauty, a salon in Oak Forest, Illinois. On the day of Prom, she dedicated her time to giving back in a meaningful and personal way, providing free hair and beauty services to juniors and seniors. Because of this, she has helped them prepare for one of the most memorable nights of their high school experience.

Giving Back to the Next Generation

Her inspiration comes from watching her mom prepare her and her sisters for Prom each year and understanding the effort behind those moments. Returning to Excel Academy, she wanted to ease that burden for families while reminding students that they deserve to feel confident and celebrated.

Ultimately, Briana’s impact has reached beyond the school community. In fact, she was recently featured on FOX 32 Chicago, where she shared her journey, her business, and her passion for giving back.
