BEST Academy Student Spotlight: Celebrating Matthew

This week, we are proud to celebrate our graduating student, Matthew, who officially graduated on Friday, June 12. He has been a valued part of the B.E.S.T. Academy community since 2016, and it has been an honor to watch his growth over the years.

Building Meaningful Relationships

When Matthew first joined our school, he had difficulty building relationships with staff and often struggled with staying safe and completing academic tasks. He would frequently refuse presented activities and usually preferred to spend time on his own. Over time, however, he formed strong and meaningful relationships with multiple staff members, allowing his true personality to shine through.

Growing Through Routine and Responsibility

As those connections grew, so did our opportunity to see the funny and mischievous young man he is today. Matthew has thrived with routine and has made tremendous progress in actively participating in a variety of school tasks, including helping deliver lunch and snacks to other students. These responsibilities have become an important part of his day and highlight how much he has grown.

Making a Lasting Impression

Matthew also brings so much personality to our school community. He loves listening to “Life is a Highway” and “We Will Rock You,” and he enjoys watching Would You Rather food videos. His interests, humor, and unique spirit have made a lasting impression on both staff and students.

We are incredibly proud of all the progress he has made during his time at BEST Academy. While we will miss him very much, we are excited for him as he begins his next chapter.
