B.E.S.T. Academy Goes Spooky

Fall Creativity Comes to Life
Things got a little spooky at B.E.S.T. Academy recently as students celebrated the fall season with hands-on activities throughout the school. From assembling fall wreaths to decorating cookies and creating colorful “splat monsters,” students had plenty of ways to get creative and enjoy time with their classmates.
Students put their fine motor skills to work making fall wreaths with colorful leaves. Each student created a wreath of their own, working independently or with support from staff as needed.
Sweet Treats and Splat Monsters
Fall cookie decorating gave students another chance to get creative—with a sweet reward at the end. Students chose how to decorate their cookies before enjoying their creations with classmates.
One activity in particular proved to be a favorite: splat monsters. Students mixed paint with water, then smushed and splattered it across paper to create colorful monsters. They added eyes and other details to give each creation its own personality. Students also made ghosts as part of the day’s festivities.
Building Skills Through Seasonal Fun
Beyond the seasonal fun, the activities gave students a chance to practice skills they work on throughout the school day. Decision-making, completing tasks and participating alongside classmates all reinforced the independence students are building at B.E.S.T. Academy. Staff provided individualized support so each student could take part in a way that worked for them.
By the end of the celebration, students had plenty of fall creations to show off and cookies to enjoy.
