High Road School of Anne Arundel Hosts Autism Parent Workshop

Families Gather for Community Support
Parents and caregivers of children with autism recently attended the annual Autism Parent Workshop hosted by High Road School of Anne Arundel County, where families could learn about services, strategies, and community resources.
Autism Parent Workshop Connects Families With Resources
The workshop offered expert-led discussions on speech and language development, behavior management, and other topics important to those navigating autism.
Participating organizations included Autism Waiver specialists, the Autism Society, Starobin Counseling, Pathfinders for Autism, the SEALS adaptive swim program, a music therapy professional, and Eco Adventures.
Tara Chander, school director, said the event has grown steadily over the years.
“We are grateful to everyone who came out to support our resource fair,” Chander said. “Each year, this event continues to gain traction and connect more families with valuable resources.”
Building Stronger Community Connections
What began as a simple presentation for two parents has become a large community event that brings together trusted organizations from across the region.
“We could not make it happen without the teamwork and dedication of our staff and leadership team,” she said. “We appreciate everyone who helped make the evening a success for our students and families.”
