At High Road School of York, students enthusiastically participated in Kindness Week through a variety of collaborative and meaningful activities. Classrooms were paired together, giving students the opportunity to connect with peers they may not usually work with, strengthening relationships across grade levels and groups.

Hands-On Activities That Encourage Kindness

Working side by side, students created handmade bookmarks for one another. They also designed kindness awareness posters and explored the language of kindness from cultures around the world.

Additionally, students practiced spreading positivity by writing and delivering compliment cards. In this activity, they took time to personalize appreciation cards to recognize the unique qualities of meaningful people in their lives.

Building Empathy, Connection, and Community

These activities helped students develop empathy, communication skills, and a deeper understanding of how small acts of kindness can make a big impact within their school community.

Kindness Week fostered connection, inclusivity, and a shared commitment to creating a more supportive and respectful environment for everyone.
