Christmas Spirit Week at High Road School of York

Spreading Holiday Cheer Across Classrooms
Students at High Road School of York enjoyed Christmas activities before going on break. To start the week, Elementary students wrote notes to ‘Santa Claus’ and High School students took the time to write personalized letters back to the elementary students!
Pollyanna Gift Exchange and Thoughtful Giving
Throughout the week, students in each class worked on a Pollyanna gift exchange activity. Each student wrote down three things that they enjoy, and the papers were randomly distributed amongst students in all classes. Peers took time to make personalized crafts such as posters, collages, ornaments, games, and so much more! Once completed, students were able to deliver the gift to their peers and showed the joy and community of thoughtful gift giving.
Christmas Spirit Day and Festive Activities
On Thursday, students were able to participate in a Christmas Spirit Day and wear Christmas sweaters! The day started off with the Elementary students stopping by each classroom to Christmas carol! The spirit day also included a ‘cookie walk’. Students decorated and personalized bags before going to get cookies from staff members! The day concluded with Christmas movies and themed games!
