High Road School of Hoffman Estates Celebrates Halloween Spirit Week

A Week of Costumes and School Spirit
High Road School of Hoffman Estates brought Halloween magic to life with a festive, action-packed Spirit Week designed to build excitement and school spirit leading up to the holiday.
Throughout the week, students and staff enthusiastically participated in themed days, showing off their creative attire for Pumpkin Day, Black Cat Day, Spooky Pajama Day and the grand finale, Costume Day.
Practicing Communication Through Trick-or-Treating
The highlight of the week took place on Thursday, October 29, when the entire school came together for a schoolwide trick-or-treating event. Students visited classrooms and offices throughout the building, collecting sweet treats and fun fidgets at every stop.
Beyond the excitement, the event provided a valuable learning opportunity. Students practiced the social elements of trick-or-treating using verbal prompts, visual supports and augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) devices to communicate and participate fully with their peers and staff.
Celebrating With Crafts, Games and Karaoke
To wrap up the festivities, the school’s Sunshine Committee hosted a Halloween event filled with engaging activities. Students participated in spooky crafts, interactive games, karaoke and more, creating memorable experiences together.
High Road School of Hoffman Estates hopes all its students and families enjoyed a magical, fun-filled Halloween weekend!
