High Road School of Hartford Celebrates Hispanic Heritage Month

Students and staff at High Road School of Hartford marked Hispanic Heritage Month with a schoolwide celebration centered on the cultures represented throughout their community.
The event featured art, educational activities, and food, giving students and staff opportunities to share traditions and learn more about one another. With many cultures represented across the school, the celebration also gave students a chance to see their own backgrounds reflected in the event.
Hispanic Heritage Month Brings the School Community Together
“Events like this help our students learn about each other and build stronger relationships,” said Karen Graham, assistant school director at High Road School of Hartford. “It’s important that students have opportunities to share where they come from and take pride in the cultures and traditions that are part of who they are.”
Observed from Sept. 15 through Oct. 15, Hispanic Heritage Month recognizes the histories, cultures, and contributions of Hispanic and Latino Americans. The celebration provided another opportunity for students and staff to connect while building greater awareness and appreciation for the cultures within their school community.
