Sierra School of Gilbert’s Girls Club recently took a trip to Dunkin’ Donuts for a special birthday celebration.

What is a proper birthday celebration without donuts?

The group enjoyed a sweet treat while celebrating one of its members. The outing also gave students time to connect outside the classroom.

Girls Club Builds Skills in the Community

Community outings provide opportunities for students to practice important skills in real-world settings.

Students can work on communication, decision-making, appropriate social interactions, and navigating public spaces. These experiences can also help students become more comfortable and confident within their community.

Just as importantly, outings give students opportunities to strengthen friendships and enjoy shared experiences with their peers.

The birthday trip offered a fun way to bring these goals together. Students could celebrate, socialize, and practice community readiness skills at the same time.

At Sierra Gilbert, learning can happen in many different places. Sometimes, it even comes with sprinkles.
