High Road School at CCCS Hosts Thanksgiving Feast

Bringing Students Together for the Holiday

High Road School at CCCS brought warmth and community to its building this week by hosting a Thanksgiving Feast exclusively for students in the High Road program. Joined by High Road staff and Chester Community Charter School (CCCS) staff in the building, the event provided a meaningful holiday experience for students who may not always have access to one at home.

A Thanksgiving Feast Focused on Community

To create a smooth and welcoming serving process, staff transformed one classroom into a buffet-style meal area. Students and staff came down in small groups, where administrators plated their meals before returning to their classrooms to enjoy the feast together.

This year’s menu featured a variety of comfort-food favorites, including fried chicken, mac and cheese, cornbread, and several homemade dips and sides. All this was generously prepared and provided by High Road staff and the school. After lunch, the staff brought a mobile dessert table directly to each classroom. This gave students the chance to choose from an assortment of sweet treats.

Staff Collaboration Creates a Welcoming Atmosphere

High Road and CCCS staff collaborated throughout the day to guide students, assist with serving, and support classroom celebrations. Their teamwork created a warm and inclusive atmosphere that extended far beyond the buffet room.

Back in their classrooms, students enjoyed their meals with peers and staff, creating a cozy and community-centered environment. The feast offered a chance for students to enjoy a shared holiday experience while strengthening connections within the program.

Continuing Meaningful Traditions

The Thanksgiving Feast reflects SESI’s mission to provide meaningful, supportive experiences that prioritize the whole child. High Road School at CCCS looks forward to continuing traditions like this that uplift and celebrate its students.
