The halls of High Road School at Chester Community Charter School felt a little brighter this Veterans Day as students and staff gathered to honor someone who spends her days tying shoelaces, soothing worries, and teaching the alphabet: kindergarten-2nd grade teacher Antonee Murphy, a former First Platoon Private First Class whose quiet dedication rarely seeks the spotlight.

Murphy, who was injured during skill drills, was honored in the school halls with posters thanking her for her service. She emphasized teamwork, responsibility, and perseverance—values she now integrates into her teaching.
