Student Spotlight: Celebrating Shamar’s Growth at B.E.S.T. Academy

A Journey of Growth and Support

Shamar has been a vibrant part of the B.E.S.T. Academy family since the 2021 school year. When he first arrived, he faced challenges with his academics and finding his way safely around the school building. Thanks to the support of a passionate multidisciplinary team, Shamar quickly found creative ways to participate and connect with his peers. Through the use of an AAC device, individualized movement breaks, and a personalized reinforcement system, Shamar has grown tremendously, both academically and socially.

A Positive Presence in Our School Community

Shamar is known for his big personality, warm smile, and wonderful kindness. He brightens every room he enters, making everyone around him feel welcomed. His positivity is especially infectious during his favorite moments, listening to music and celebrating with dance parties. Shamar’s joy for music brings people together, and no one can resist joining in when he starts to move to the beat.

Growing Independence and Communication

Over the years, Shamar has become more independent in using his communication device and expressing his needs. His extraordinary growth is a testament to his resilience and the power of teamwork at BEST Academy.
