Shoebox Float Presentations at High Road School of York

Creativity and Collaboration: Homecoming Week Shoebox Float Presentations
Homecoming Week was filled with creativity and school spirit at High Road School of York as students and staff came together for the Shoebox Float Presentations! Each classroom took on a unique theme tied to awareness and education, transforming small boxes into imaginative, information-packed displays that showcased research, art, and teamwork.
In preparation for the event, students dove into topics ranging from saving the planet and biodiversity to renewable resources, the seven modern wonders of the world, and countries and customs around the globe. Working collaboratively, each group blended design skills with research and problem-solving to bring their “shoebox” floats to life.
A Celebration of Learning and School Spirit
When presentation day arrived, the excitement filled the room. Students proudly shared their finished projects before their class during Assembly, explaining what they learned and why their chosen topics matter. Staff and classmates listened attentively, cheering on the presenters and celebrating everyone’s effort and creativity.
Building Confidence Through Hands-On Learning
Through their hard work and enthusiasm, High Road School of York students demonstrated that hands-on learning can make a big impact and that every small idea can lead to something remarkable.
