Winter Carnival Celebration at Sierra Gilbert School

Winter Carnival at Sierra Gilbert
At Sierra School of Gilbert, students, staff, families, district partners, and community stakeholders came together to celebrate the holiday season, the end of the semester, and a major school-wide achievement.
Celebrating a School-Wide Milestone
The Winter Carnival recognized Sierra Gilbert’s success in reaching a key school-wide goal focused on increasing instructional time and reducing disruptions to the learning environment.
The school set a goal of achieving an 80 percent reduction in disruptions. By the end of Semester 1, as a result, Sierra Gilbert exceeded that goal, finishing the semester with an overall 95 percent reduction. This achievement was a cause for celebration and a reflection of the collective efforts of students, staff, and the entire school community.
A Day of Celebration and Community
The Winter Carnival featured a variety of activities that brought the school community together. Throughout the event, students enjoyed interactive games and inflatable attractions, while staff and students participated side by side.
Highlights included students smiling and posing together, staff joining in games like cornhole, and a festive appearance by a staff member dressed as the Grinch. One of the most anticipated moments of the day was the dunk tank, where students took turns throwing a ball to hit the target and send the school director into the water.
A Milestone Worth Celebrating
Ultimately, this milestone reflects the dedication, consistency, and teamwork shown across the Sierra Gilbert community. In turn, reaching a 95 percent reduction in disruptions means more time for learning, stronger routines, and a positive environment where students can succeed. That achievement made this Winter Carnival more than just a seasonal event. It truly was a cause for celebration.
