Sierra School of Scottsdale Hosts Annual Thanksgiving Brunch and Food Drive

Community Celebrates Thanksgiving Brunch and Food Drive
The spirit of gratitude was on full display at Sierra School of Scottsdale during its annual Thanksgiving brunch. The event brought together students, families, and staff for a morning filled with delicious food and also served as the culmination of a month-long food drive.
Month-Long Giving Leads to a Successful Food Drive
Throughout November, the school community collected canned goods to support local families in need. Admission to the brunch was two canned goods per person.
Thanks to the overwhelming response, Sierra School of Scottsdale donated 300 pounds of food to the PV Community Food Bank. In early December, representatives from the food bank picked up the donations and extended heartfelt thanks to the Sierra School community. Students even helped load the donations onto the truck, demonstrating the importance of compassion and service in action.
“Your donation made an impact on the availability of food at the food bank,” said Debbie Messing, volunteer and school food drive area captain. “A tremendous THANK YOU to everyone who planned, organized, motivated, and collected all the food. We are so grateful for your hard work and team coordination.”
“Our Thanksgiving brunch was a wonderful success,” said director Jameril Johnson, M.Ed. “Thank you to every student, family, and staff member who contributed to this year’s Thanksgiving Brunch and food drive.”
Families Appreciate the Thanksgiving Brunch and Food Drive
Families also expressed appreciation for the warm, community-centered celebration. “We truly felt the spirit of gratitude and giving, and we appreciate the school for creating such a thoughtful event,” one parent shared.
