Student Bowler Victor W. Earns Student of the Month Honors

A Student with Focus and Determination
High Road Academy of Howard County is excited to shine the spotlight on one of our 11th graders, Victor W., as our May Student of the Month.
Victor joined our school community in August 2023 with a quiet determination and a strong sense of focus, qualities that have only grown stronger throughout his time at HRA. He has distinguished himself not only in the classroom but also through his extraordinary talent and dedication as a competitive bowler and young author.
Student Bowler Achieves Success on the Lanes
Victor first picked up a bowling ball at the age of three and quickly fell in love with the sport. By six, he was competing in the AMF Capital Area Youth Bowling League, where he had consistently earned the highest season average, including in the 2026 season.
Inspired by his idol, Jason Belmonte, Victor uses a powerful two-handed technique. He has won numerous tournaments, competed in the national Junior Gold tournament, and achieved multiple perfect 300 games. His accomplishments earned him recognition as the 6th PBA Junior Ambassador in the country.
From Bowling Lanes to Book Pages
At age 12, Victor wrote Bowling Is My Superpower, later sharing his story on ABC News during Autism Awareness Month. He expressed that “bowling makes [him] feel confident.” Victor hopes to attend college and ultimately become a professional bowler.
High Road Academy is proud to celebrate Victor’s hard work, perseverance, and personal excellence.
