This winter, the Sierra School of Sonoma County hosted a ribbon-cutting ceremony to celebrate its new location. Students had the honor of cutting the ribbon and welcoming guests for tours of the building.

Why Sierra School Opened a New Campus

The decision to open a new campus was driven by the school’s commitment to serving more students in a space designed to support their needs. One of the first things visitors notice when entering the new building is the spaciousness of the classrooms. This offers students an opportunity to move freely and engage in learning throughout the day. The school now operates four classrooms, with two additional classrooms planned to open in the near future.

Features of the New Campus

The new Sierra School of Sonoma County features a sensory room and direct access to the outdoors, with an on-site playground making it easy to transition between indoor learning and outdoor activity.

“We’re excited about our new campus and the ability to serve additional students,” said Andy Hinkel-Lipsker, regional director. “The larger location allows us to better support our students through intentional spaces that reinforce structure, consistency, and routine. We’ve worked hard to create a safe place where they can truly learn and grow.”

The school has the capacity to serve 60 students at its new location.

Supporting Students at Sierra School’s New Campus

Sierra School of Sonoma County is where students with academic, emotional, and behavioral needs uncover their potential through individualized learning that goes beyond what most classrooms can offer.
