Sierra School of Tucson Unveils Expanded K-12 Campus

Sierra School of Tucson celebrated the grand opening of its expanded campus with a community ribbon-cutting ceremony. The school partnered with the Chamber of Southern Arizona to mark the occasion and introduce its new facility.
Located just five minutes from its former site, the new standalone building represents an exciting milestone for the school community. Previously serving middle and high school students, Sierra School of Tucson now offers a full K-12 program. The school also serves students up to age 22.
Expanded Learning Spaces at Sierra School of Tucson
The new campus was designed to support students with specialized learning needs while helping them prepare for employment and greater independence.
The facility includes several features that enhance the learning environment:
- Larger classrooms: Designated classroom pods create smaller, more focused learning environments.
- Individualized classroom support: Low student-to-teacher ratios, with a dedicated teacher and teaching assistant in every classroom.
- On-site support staff: A program coordinator, social worker, administrative assistant, and school director provide additional support.
- Outdoor recreation areas: Dedicated sports space and a private playground offer opportunities for physical activity and recreation.
A New Chapter for Students and Families
The expanded facility provides new opportunities for students across a broader range of grade levels. With dedicated learning spaces and individualized support, Sierra School of Tucson continues its commitment to helping students build skills for school, employment, and everyday life.
School Director Katherine Lopez spoke with KVOA News 4 Tucson about the expansion and what the new campus means for the school community.
