Fall Field Trip Fun at Sierra School of Buckeye

A Fall Field Trip Filled with Learning and Fun
Students at Sierra School of Buckeye took a fall field trip to the local pumpkin patch. They spent the day exploring the farm, picking produce, riding the cow train, and jumping into hands-on seasonal activities. Students, teachers, support staff, administrators, and parent volunteers all joined in to make it a true community experience.
Building Skills Beyond the Classroom
This trip was designed to take learning beyond the classroom. It supported our community-based instruction and behavioral goals, while giving students the chance to practice independence, communication, and positive peer interactions in a real-world setting.
Student Confidence, Curiosity, and Connection
The best part was how engaged and confident the students were. Many tried new activities, asked questions, and moved around the farm at their own pace. Students learned where produce comes from, experienced the sights and sounds of the farm, and practiced turn-taking, teamwork, and flexibility. They were so proud carrying their own bags of produce. Staff loved supporting them in a relaxed environment, which helped build even stronger relationships.
Moments That Made the Day Unforgettable
We even captured a few quotes that summed up the day perfectly. One student said, “This is the best day ever,” while riding the cow train. Another said, “I picked these all by myself.” A staff member shared, “Seeing them so happy made the whole day special.”
It was the perfect blend of learning, growth, and fun. Our students supported each other, showed great behavior, and made memories that will follow them back into the classroom.
