In the beginning of March, BEST Academy celebrated Read Across America Week, a nationally recognized celebration of reading and storytelling. Throughout the week, students explored beloved children’s books such as If You Give a Mouse a Cookie, Where the Wild Things Are, Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What Do You See?, and The Giving Tree. Each day was filled with themed spirit days and activities that brought these stories to life, creating an engaging and immersive experience for students.

Read Across America Week is intended to bring schools and communities together to celebrate the joy of reading. BEST Academy welcomed a variety of special guest readers who shared their time and passion for reading.

Students had the opportunity to hear stories read by the Mayor of Wallingford, the Wallingford Fire Chief, a local police officer, and a retired special education teacher. Their visits not only emphasized the importance of reading but also highlighted the strong connection between the school and the broader community. Through these engaging activities and memorable moments, Read Across America Week left a lasting impression, inspiring students to continue exploring the wonderful world of books.
