High Road Alum Rakeem Miles Gives Back

A Journey That Started at High Road
At the High Road School of Cecil County, faculty and staff help students embrace their passions, work through challenges, and build confidence. Rakeem Miles, a High Road alumnus (’12), is one example. From the classroom to the national stage, Miles is building a career in music, television, and design while staying connected to the school that helped shape his path.
For years, Miles has focused on his music and creative expression. He has established himself as a dynamic force in the music industry, collaborating with the legendary production duo The Neptunes and rapper Waka Flocka Flame. His work also extends to television, where he has produced music for major shows and is gearing up to release his own cartoon on Adult Swim.
From Music to Fashion and Beyond
Miles’ artistry doesn’t stop at entertainment and has expanded into fashion, designing three sneaker collections for K-Swiss. His latest design dropped in February, continuing a streak of innovation that blends culture, style, and authenticity. Recently, he generously sent over 40 pairs of “R K-Swiss” boots to current High Road students to help them stay warm and stylish.
“Thank you so much,” said Amani Murray, a High Road student. “These kicks are great, and I really needed a new pair. It’s so cool to know a former student made it big and is giving back. It gives me hope.”
A Lasting Impact Beyond Success
Miles’ gesture spoke louder than any industry accomplishment. He has remained engaged with High Road and continues to honor his alma mater and support current students.
“As a proud teacher and principal, I want to say to Rakeem, ‘we see you, we celebrate you, and we thank you,” said Brittany Dotson. “Your journey reminds our students that their circumstances do not define their ceiling. And that passion, persistence, and purpose can carry you anywhere.”
The High Road School of Cecil County community is incredibly proud of Miles’ growth and the impact he continues to make in music and fashion and in the lives of the next generation.
