Staff Spotlight: Kaylin Allee, August 2026 Staff of the Month

Before the first student walked through the door on opening day, special education teacher and school climate and culture coordinator Kaylin Allee was already working to make High Road School of Wright City feel welcoming.

She created a new life skills room, organized a meet-the-teacher event, and gathered resources to help students start the year on the right foot.

Creating Opportunities for Students

That same energy carries into Allee’s work throughout the school year. She developed clubs for Fun Fridays, creating new ways for students to spend time together and explore their interests. She also makes a point of supporting her colleagues and helping staff feel appreciated.

Allee is consistently among the first to step in when challenges arise. Whether she is responding to student behaviors, pitching in wherever she is needed, or offering extra support, Allee brings patience and compassion to her work.

Helping Students Recognize Their Potential

Allee’s commitment to special education is rooted in her belief that every student deserves someone who sees their potential. That support can be especially important when students struggle to recognize their own strengths.

She works to create a classroom where students feel comfortable taking chances and learning from setbacks. At the same time, she helps students recognize what they are capable of accomplishing. Seeing students begin to understand their strengths and advocate for themselves is what continues to motivate Allee each day.
