Meet Joshua, High Road School of Boone County’s November Spotlight

November Student Spotlight: Joshua
Joshua has become a star student at High Road School of Boone County. He is always ready to help his peers and check on them when they are feeling down. Joshua has learned a variety of coping skills and will use those when his body is moving too fast or too slow. He will also encourage his friends to use them as well! Josh has been working on his social skills and interacting with peers.
He is using his words to express his wants and needs. This has led to positive play with others and communication. Josh will regularly ask peers about their day and follow up with questions. Not only has he worked hard on emotional regulation, but he is excelling in academics.
Joshua’s Academic Progress
He recently read a book with over 200 words and scored 85% accuracy! He has improved his math skills with number knowledge and writing numbers. This has been shown through his writing numbers up to 30, to being able to write up to 100 in a short amount of time.
Joshua has made so many gains, and we love to celebrate his growth! He is our November Student Spotlight, and we couldn’t be more excited to share how amazing he is with everyone. Way to go, Joshua!

“Josh is doing great waiting his turn, raising his hand, and being a model student!“
