High Road School of East York Earns Cognia Accreditation

High Road School of East York has earned accreditation from Cognia, marking an important milestone for the school and highlighting its commitment to providing students with a high-quality learning environment.
The school initially completed Pennsylvania’s licensing requirements to open and serve students. Cognia accreditation represents an additional, nationally recognized measure of quality. Schools must undergo a comprehensive review of their practices, performance, and commitment to continuous improvement.
Cognia Accreditation Recognizes Commitment to Quality
“Earning Cognia accreditation validates the work our team puts in every day to create an environment where students feel supported and can make progress,” said Krystle Kessler, director of High Road School of East York. “The process gave us an opportunity to take a close look at our strengths, identify areas where we can continue to grow and demonstrate the quality of the program we have built for our students and families.”
Cognia is a global nonprofit organization that provides quality assurance for schools, school systems and other education providers. Its accreditation method evaluates schools against rigorous performance standards. The standards focus on four key areas. These include Culture of Learning, Leadership for Learning, Engagement of Learning, and Growth in Learning.
To earn accreditation, High Road School of East York completed both internal and external reviews examining how effectively the school supports teaching and learning. Accreditation through the Cognia Global Commission signifies that the school meets Cognia Performance Standards and maintains a commitment to continuous improvement. Institutions in good standing can maintain their accreditation for a six-year term.
Supporting Continued Growth and Student Success
“Cognia Accreditation is a rigorous process that focuses the entire institution and its community on the primary goal of ensuring all students can flourish in engaging and effective learning environments,” said Dr. Mark A. Elgart, president and CEO of Cognia. “We commend High Road School of East York for meeting high standards and making progress on key indicators that impact student learning.”
The accreditation provides external validation of the school’s practices while establishing a framework to guide continued growth and improvement.
High Road School of East York provides a structured, supportive learning environment designed to help students build the academic, behavioral, and social-emotional skills they need to make progress in school and beyond.
