A Halloween Professional Development Day to Remember

At the Sierra School of East Valley, this year’s Halloween celebration doubled as a spooktacular day of professional development focused on connection, collaboration, and a little friendly competition.

Building Community Through Festive Team Activities

For more than 20 teachers, aides, and administrators, it was all treats and no tricks as they took part in lively Kahoot games, belted out upbeat tunes during karaoke, and competed in a crowd-pleasing mummy-wrapping contest, complete with toilet paper.

How Halloween Fun Supports Schoolwide Collaboration

Beyond the Halloween festivities, the goal of the day was to build stronger relationships among school employees. The team-building activities translate to classroom success by giving faculty and staff new ways to work together and reinforcing what it means to show up for one another and for students. They strengthen communication and collaboration, ensuring staff can continue to lift students’ spirits all year long.

The Lasting Impact of a Well Spent Day

The activities brought plenty of laughs and created meaningful and valuable bonding opportunities.

After reflecting on the day’s events, one staff member summed it perfectly: “We needed this!”
